Cooperative Game Theory Approach for the Cognitive Radio Users

چکیده
Wireless mobile communication plays a vital role in our life. The facility of anywhere anytime communication services availability can be handled by management of resources efficiently. The quality of service offered to users may be enhanced through innovative protocols and new technologies. Future trends in wireless computing should take into account resource allocation, resource sharing and network/terminal cooperation as well. Cognitive radio is novel way to solve spectrum underutilization problem and to improve utilization of electromagnetic radio spectrum. In cognitive network the radio parameters were modified to achieve network objectives, which can be through-put maximization, reliability, or spectral or energy efficiency. In these networks, the licensed spectrum and dynamic spectrum sharing is based on opportunistic communication which plays an important role in resource allocation. The traditional spectrum sharing approaches based on fully cooperative, static and centralised network environment are no longer applicable. Cognitive radio networks (CRN) has created a significant research interest due to the unique opportunistic spectrum sharing of channels when not used by the licensed user (known as white spaces). Game theory has been recognized as an important tool for studying, modelling and analysing the cognitive interaction process.

Cooperative and Non-Cooperative Games for Spectrum Sharing in Cognitive Radio Networks: A Comparative Study
Spectrum sharing in cognitive radio networks is essential to ensure effective communication between secondary users. Game theory is suitable to be applied to the spectrum sharing strategies since it considers strategic interactions between users. There are two types of games based on the ability to communicate between users: cooperative game and non-cooperative game. In this paper, the two spec...

The study includes the concept of cognitive radio (CR) networks, cooperative and non-cooperative game theory, and modeling of strategic interaction process for CR enabled secondary users. The prime objective of the present study is to compare existing game models for CR networks in term...
متن کاملA Cooperative Temporal Spectrum Sharing Game in Cognitive Radio Network
In Cognitive Radio Network, one of the most important issues is spectrum sharing between secondary users. We propose a novel approach to the cooperative spectrum sharing with the use of potential game model in Game Theory. So far, previous work on this problem have assumed that the number of network agents is fixed. However, in real-world networks, the communications loads, i.e. the number of u...
متن کاملA Trust Game Model and Algorithm for Cooperative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks
The existence of malicious secondary users will bring damage to the performance of cooperative spectrum sensing and spectrum access in cognitive radio networks, so effectively curbing malicious behavior of secondary users become the key to success for cooperative spectrum sensing mechanism. Inspired by economics of repeated game theory, a trust game model and algorithm of distributed cooperativ...
متن کاملCooperative network flow problem with pricing decisions and allocation of benefits: A game theory approach
Several real problems in telecommunication, transportation, and distribution industries can be well analyzed by network flow models. In revenue management, pricing plays a primary role which increases the profit generated from a limited supply of assets. Pricing decision directly affects the amount of service or product demand. Hence, in traditional maximum flow problem, we assume that the dema...
متن کاملSpectrum Sensing Data Falsification Attack in Cognitive Radio Networks: An Analytical Model for Evaluation and Mitigation of Performance Degradation
Cognitive Radio (CR) networks enable dynamic spectrum access and can significantly improve spectral efficiency. Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) exploits the spatial diversity between CR users to increase sensing accuracy. However, in a realistic scenario, the trustworthy of CSS is vulnerable to Spectrum Sensing Data Falsification (SSDF) attack. In an SSDF attack, some malicious CR users deli...
